40 high school and community college students attended a fictional case dramatized by ACPHS faculty and Mock Trial Team members on Friday, Dec. 6, in the Gozzo Student Center. The interactive 鈥渃ase鈥� was presented to introduce students to new ACPHS programs in psychology, forensic psychology and forensic science. Students attending also took tours of campus.

As the case created for the 2024-2025 session of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA), Shannon Shahid v. Taylor Hopson is being litigated in classrooms. ACPHS is fielding its first team to compete at the association鈥檚 regional competition in February, with the guidance of Assistant Professor Stephen Maher, who teaches in ACPHS鈥� new forensic psychology and forensic science programs, acquired from the closed College of Saint Rose.

She finds tremendous rewards in聽being able to use her laboratory expertise聽to "solve puzzles" and bring patients the reassurance of a diagnosis.
