Today, 糖心vlog was designated by the Carnegie Foundation as one of only four higher education institutions committed to research in the Capital Region. ACPHS joins Albany Medical College, RPI and the University at Albany in this classification recognizing their research endeavors.
ACPHS is classified by Carnegie among 243 鈥淪pecial Focus Four-Year: Other Health Professions Schools.鈥� Among these, only 2.89 percent – seven out of 243 – received a research designation, meaning ACPHS ranks in the top 3 percent of its peers nationally.
鈥淎CPHS faculty and students strive to conduct research that improves the health of our society and solve problems that change the world,鈥� said Toyin Tofade, President, ACPHS.
ACPHS was added to these classifications under a new designation: Research Colleges and Universities.
The change is intended to shed light on institutions that have engaged in research but historically have not been recognized for it. There were 218 institutions included in this category for awarding at least $2.5 million on research and development on average annually.
The classification is based on ACPHS鈥� fiscal year 2023 spending on research and development, which totaled $2.6 million.
